A Ghost of an Idea – and a Gift For You

Ebeneezer Scrooge's Door Knocker

Ebeneezer Scrooge's Door Knocker

One of my all time favorite Christmas stories is “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. It was first published in 1843 and was an instant hit. I believe it was, and still is so popular because of its message “It is never too late to treat others as you would like to be treated”

Here is a quote from the book by Dickens himself …

I HAVE endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall

not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me.

May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it.

Their faithful Friend and Servant,

C. D.
December, 1843.

I like this book so much I downloaded and published a copy so I could give it to you as a Christmas Gift.

Download it here and “God Bless us, Every One!”

An Expression of Gratitude on Thanksgiving

This is a message sent to Twisted Finster Insiders newsletter subscribers this morning. I hope you like it.

Poundin Paul

You have undoubtedly heard that we should be thankful for what we have. I heard Omelette and Finster (and Kate) talking about it on the radio on the way to work this morning.

Since I am in the mood for giving thanks lately I thought I should share my take on the whole gratitude thing.

We all have things we are thankful for but I’ll bet it’s a short list.

Let me explain.

It’s easy to be thankful for your kids, your house, your job, your mate, your family…

But what about your jerk boss who didn’t give you the raise you deserve, or your asshole neighbor who never returned the chain saw?

Or the sister in law who owes you that $50 and never paid?

Or that girlfriend or spouse who dragged you through all ugly breakup or divorce?

How about that cop who gave you the ticket you didn’t deserve?

We all have a list of things in our lives that we call bad but it doesn’t have to be.

Since every experience has contributed to your advancement why not include it in your gratitude?

There is a different way you can look at it… Read the rest of this entry
