Zimmy Six String

“My dad was in radio broadcasting and from day one I knew I loved music. I would sit and listen to my records of Black Sabbath and especially the riffs of the guitar. At age 14, I picked out my first guitar for my birthday, a red sunburst Gibson Epiphone. I knew at that moment that the guitar and I were meant to be together. I would listen to my records of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Alice Cooper and try to master that guitar sound, riff, and style.” said Zimmy in a recent interview at his home in Kalkaska, Michigan.

In 2007, Zimmy called into the KLT radio station to get information on the auditions for what would become “Twisted Finster – “The Best New Band of 2008″ according to Northern Express readers. In that first song he knew he had found the perfect band and had been given the perfect nickname “Zimmy Six String.”

Zimmy has played in a number of Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula bands like Gettin’ Even, Left Words, Sweet Teaser and Peril to name a few.

In his spare time, he likes to write his own music. The influences are 80’s rock and roll.

Zimmy currently plays a Charvel Jackson – his signature “red” guitar.
